Take these steps to join the 800+ volunteers already making a difference with Herralink.
To begin volunteering, first choose your volunteer type: Guest, Short-Term, or Long-Term. Select the option that best fits your availability and interest.
Then, complete and submit the registration form using the link below.
Upload required documents which may include a background check, health forms, and any training certificates. Once submitted, our team will review and approve your application.
Once approved, browse available activities and sign up for volunteer opportunities at The View Alexandria, Goodwin House Alexandria, or Bailey’s Crossroads.
Confirmation Email
You’ll receive a confirmation email after signing up for an activity.
Reminder Email
We’ll send you a reminder email 24 hours before your volunteer activity.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel, please email herralink@gmail.com at least 24 hours before the activity. Failure to attend an activity may result in removal from the program.
Check-In
When you arrive, sign in on the tablet located in the front lobby. Follow the directions in your email to find the activity room.

Before you leave, the activities leader will take your attendance. This is how we verify your service hours.
Submitting Your Hours
You can submit your hours through Mobile Service, x2VOL, or your school's service hour platform.
Please use herralink@gmail.com as the supervisor email.
If an older adult needs assistance—like moving a bingo chip, seeing a card, or handling supplies—please kindly help them.
If the person you're partnered with doesn't need help, simply enjoy the activity side-by-side!
Ask the person next to you about their day, their favorite memories, or hobbies they enjoy.
Share something about yourself—your school, your interests, or even a funny story.
Don’t be afraid to rant about your life! Opening up makes everyone feel more comfortable.
Most importantly, show genuine interest. Listening and sharing stories makes the experience meaningful for everyone.
