Our Story

Herralink was created in October 2023, born out of our founders' need for friendship and community.

Isabella Solano created Herralink after her friend, a certified nursing assistant at Gainesville Health and Rehab, mentioned that the older adults he served never got any visitors.

We held our first event at Gainesville Health and Rehab with a small group of students from Centreville High School. With just a handful of volunteers, we started to host weekly events at senior homes.

October 14, 2023 - Herralink hosted its first event at Gainesville Health and Rehab.

October 31st, 2025 - St. Stephen's and St. Agnes Middle School had a field trip at The View Alexandria

November 4th, 2025 - Herralink partnered with Liberty's Promise to do an interview & resume workshop with students from Alexandria City High School

St. Stephen's and St. Agnes Upper School started the first Herralink club! They visit our partner locations every month.

November 3rd, 2025 - Bishop Ireton High School invited 60 varsity soccer players on a field trip to spend the day at Goodwin Living Alexandria.

November 11th, 2025 - We partnered with Liberty's Promise to invite students from Falls Church High School to discuss important civic topics with residents at Goodwin House Baileys Crossroads. They made t-shirts!

Herralink hosts an annual intergenerational prom at The Jim Scott Community Center!

Herralink went to the White House! In 2024 we invited residents to the Easter Egg Hunt hosted by the White House.

By August 2024, we had volunteers from all across Northern Virginia—
From Fairfax, Prince William, Loudoun, Alexandria, Falls Church, Arlington, and Washington D.C.

We built a team of high school students dedicated to building a better, more connected world.

Youna & Aadhya started as volunteers, then became paid interns, and our now employees continuing to build Herralink.

We’re just getting started. We look forward to creating a more connected world with you.

Herralink was acquired by Goodwin Living, a non-profit organization in the Washington, D.C. area providing senior living and healthcare, in April 2025. Through their support, we’ll expand our program beyond the DMV.
